Hi.

Well, you’re here now. Take a look around. You know you wanna.

Left in Last Year

Left in Last Year

I’ve been seeing a lot of those “Leave toxic people in 2019” posts, and I want to address that.

Yes, people tend to set new goals for themselves in the new year. There is so much promise to reinvent themselves or continue their path, and I get it.

I did some spring cleaning in the friends department but not for your traditional reasons.

True friendship requires honesty. If your friends can’t be honest with you and call you out when you’re not on top of things, those aren’t your friends.

I REPEAT

THOSE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS.

I can’t even call this person toxic. I just find myself feeling an immense amount of pity.

While I wholeheartedly believe in letting go of relationships that aren’t helping your growth, I want to remind you to take the time to grieve those relationships. Friends are people that you spend most of your free time with. They know your dreams, and fears. They know where the bodies are buried. Even if the situation was toxic, it’s still a loss.

Feel it.

Then, continue with your new normal.

If you’re reading this, I hope things turn out well for you. Our choices are out of alignment, but that doesn’t mean I’m not rooting  for you.

Be well. Onward.
